After a dramatic 3-2 victory at home in the HP Pavilion, the San Jose Sharks sent the Red Wings back to Detroit and became the fourth and final team to advance to Round 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

The Eastern Conference Finals kick off with the Tampa Bay Lightning meeting the Boston Bruins tomorrow in Boston, Saturday, May 14th at 8pm EST.

The Western Conference Finals will then begin Sunday night with their Game 1: San Jose Sharks at Vancouver Canucks, at 5pm PST (8 EST).

NHL Conference Finals Tickets

NHL playoff tickets are in high demand in each of the final four cities.  Lets take a look at what’s been happening on the secondary ticket market since Round 2 began a few weeks ago.

  • The Western Conference games have decidedly more expensive tickets than their Eastern Conference counterparts.
  • Vancouver Canucks tickets are, as always, the priciest in the bunch at an average price of $385.  They have also seen the largest price increases throughout the playoffs: the average ticket for Round 3 at the Rogers Arena is $79 higher than the average Round 2 ticket.  Also, they’re the only Canadians amongst the four remaining teams.
  • Eastern Conference Finals tickets at Tampa Bay are a fantastic value at average price of $120 — a figure which, coincidentally, is still significantly lower than a $160 regular season game in Vancouver.
  • The average price for Round 3 Boston Bruins tickets is surprisingly low in relation to Round 2 against the Philadelphia Flyers.  This is by far the smallest price increase between rounds at $17.  It’s hard to say, but I’d bet that Boston’s proximity to Philly allowed both sets of fans to possible attend games in both cities, thereby increasing demand and inflating the Round 2 ticket figures.  It’s a 5-6 hour drive or train ride between the two cities.  (For comparison, both the drive from Tampa to Washington DC and Vancouver to San Jose are in the 15-16 hour range.)
