The weather is heating up in New York this week and so are the summer events! Wondering what the most popular, and often times most difficult to get into, events in the Tri-state area are this summer? SeatGeek has compiled a comprehensive list of the hottest tickets from now until Labor Day weekend for the metro area and the rest of the state. What we found is that US Open tennis and Broadway shows are king, while electronic music such as Pretty Lights is peaking in popularity as well.

He came to prominence in the 1970s and is most famous for songs such as “These Days” and “The Pretender.” Playing alongside Browne at this show will be special guest Sara Watkins, a singer and fiddler best known for her involvement in the bluegrass group Nickel Creek.

Maxwell has already announced that merchandise proceeds from the tour will go towards the Obama-Biden 2012 re-election campaign. Fagen is best known as the co-founder and lead singer for the rock band Steely Dan, McDonald was a member of both Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers, and Boz Scaggs gained fame as a singer/guitarist for the Steve Miller Band as well as a solo act.

Top tier international soccer comes to Yankee Stadium on the night of August 8, when Real Madrid squares off against AC Milan. The Spanish and Italian league powers will be taking part in the World Football Challenge, a series of matches pitting the top international clubs against the MLS and one another in American venues. This is the only non-tennis sporting event to make our list, and the most expensive ticket at Yankee Stadium this summer. AC Milan, which is coming off a 2nd place finish in Serie A, features stars such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alexandre Pato, Robinho, and Thiago Silva, while La Liga champ Real Madrid a whole slew of stars to NY. Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Iker Casillas, Ricardo Carvalho, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Sami Khedira, Karim Benzema, Mesut Ozil, Marcelo, Xabi Alonso, Gonzalo Higuain, and Angel di Maria all suit up for Madrid.
