When I tried to look up info on the New York’s Alright Punk Festival, slated to run from April 18-21 in The Big Apple, I couldn’t find any. Then I realized it’s because this will be the first year of the hopefully annual punk festy, set to showcase all the great punk acts the city has to offer. Currenty, the only info available regarding the new NY event is the lineup (which we’ve outlined below) and dates. Look out for details on ticketing, venues and schedule in the near future, according to the festival’s Facebook page (which currently has almost 1,000 confirmed guests).

Based on the New York’s Alright Punk Festival press release, the goal of the event is to bring together some of the best bands in contemporary punk and hardcore from different parts of the world. Many of the groups hail from NYC to Japan, Massachusetts to Spain, and will feature popular punk acts as well as smaller, local groups. Keep your ears peeled for Double Negative, Culo, Who Killed Spikey Jacket? and Stagnation, who will be sure to draw large crowds to all of their performances. While no tickets are available yet, check back to SeatGeek when they are!
