Like the sun rises and Kanye West talks about himself, we all know that there will always be a Honda Civic Tour. The first leg of the 2014 Honda Civic Tour (the 13th of its kind) sent indie bands Grouplove and Portugal. The Man around the country, and now, artists for the second leg have been announced: Brooklyn-based pop/rock band American Authors will headline on a tour that extends well into November. They’ll start on October 1 at the Knitting Factory in Reno, NV, and then head to San Diego, CA; Santa Cruz, CA; Seattle, WA; Spokane, WA; Salt Lake City, UT; Boise, ID; Denver, CO; Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; Atlanta, GA; Detroit, MI; Columbus, OH; Boston, MA; New York, NY (at the Best Buy Theater); Philadelphia, PA; and Washington, D.C., to name a few (this is a long tour). Support on this leg of the Honda Civic Tour will be provided by The Mowgli’s, Echosmith, and/or Oh Honey, depending on your city. Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 1.

Hailing from Boston but now settled in New York (oh, what team allegiance problems they must have), American Authors is comprised of Zac Barnett, James Adam Shelley, Dave Rublin, and Matt Sanchez. Their single “Best Day of My Life”, off their major-label debut LP, Oh, What A Life, hit it big, featured on everything from ESPN to commercials for home improvement giant Lowe’s.
