Bassnectar Launches ‘Noise Vs. Beauty’ Tour This Fall
Bassnectar is a busy guy—he’s playing festivals, he’s announcing his own festivals (a Bass Center at MSG this fall), he’s releasing a new album (Noise vs. Beauty, out now), and he’s going on his own tour to support all of the above. The ‘Noise Vs. Beauty’ Tour kicks off on October 3 in Rochester, NY, at the Main Street Armory, and then continues to Madison Square Garden in New York, NY. From NYC, Bassnectar will move through Portland, ME; Burlington, VT; Wallingford, CT; Pittsburgh, PA; Cleveland, OH; Austin, TX; St. Louis, MO; Las Vegas, NV; and Sacramento, CA, to name a few. The tour ends in San Francisco, CA at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on November 8. Don’t see your city? Don’t fret—Bassnectar confirmed that more dates would be added, including a Halloween show. Presale tickets are available now via Bassnectar’s website.
The 2000s are the time of the power DJ, but Lorin Ashton (that’s Bassnectar’s real name, folks) stands out from the crowd. Besides giving fans the time of their respective lives at his shows, he’s big on community engagement. He’s known for supporting a bunch of causes, from free press and true media to net neutrality and ending corporate personhood. In 2011, he donated $1 from every ticket sold to one of three charities voted upon by fans.
