Boogie Down at LSU for Bayou Country Superfest 2013
Country music fans better dust off their cowboy boots and find their whiskey flasks – the line-up and dates for the fourth annual Bayou Country Superfest have just been announced. This year, the festival will be held on May 25th and 26th at the LSU’s Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Country superstars Lady Antebellum will headline the first night, with the Zac Brown Band finishing out this two-day all-country festival. Luke Bryan, who, like the Zac Brown Band, performed at the 2011 festival, will make a triumphant return, this time one step away from the headlining slot.
Striving to create a destination country music festival, organizers have followed previous years’ models and booked the biggest names in the country scene, with just a few up-and-coming artists to round out the selection. Their strategy seems to be working as attendance last year was near 75,000, and if you want big and if you want country, this is the place for you. Though attendees should expect more boot tapping and shoulder swaying than all-out dancing, as the staff is continuing to install a floor and chairs on the stadium turf. This makes the festival reserved seating only, save for select premium tickets which allow standing room access to the runway near the stage.
