Beck Not A “Loser,” Announces Summer Dates
Perpetual “loser” Beck (do you think he regrets writing that song, simple for the fact that he will always be known as “loser?”) has announced a few tour dates for this upcoming summer. The shows will take place on either side of his appearance at the Newport Folk Festival (a folkin’ good time) and are located primarily in New England, New York, and Pennsylvania. He’ll start as a replacement for My Morning Jacket at the Wantagh, New York show of Bob Dylan‘s Americanarama tour, then head up to Portland, Boston, Newport, and end in Brooklyn. Beck must be a fan of the Atlantic coast, especially at that time of year!
For those who don’t know, Beck Hansen rose to prominence in the mid-90s with his highly-experimental style of music. Combining social critiques and sick beats, Beck’s albums have been certified platinum four times. His first album, Odelay, was voted “Album of the Year in 1996 by Rolling Stone and was also nominated for a Grammy for Album of the Year.
