Queen Diva Big Freedia has just wrapped up the second season of her show Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce, but she’s getting started on a tour that’s sure to bring the bounce to your city. The “Just Be Free” tour (named after Big Freedia’s debut album) kicks off with a set on August 9 at Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival in San Francisco, CA, and then continues to Seattle, WA at Bumbershoot Festival, New York, NY; Austin, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Washington, DC; Philadelphia, PA; Boston, MA; Montreal, QC; Toronto, ON; Chicago, IL; Salt Lake City, UT; Vancouver, BC; and Honolulu, HI, among others. The tour wraps up with a hometown dates in New Orleans, LA on Halloween at the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience. Tickets for the tour are on sale now.

Big Freedia (born Freddie Ross) is known for her work in bounce music, a New Orleans genre of hip-hop. Her career started in Jamaica in the late 1990s, gaining mainstream exposure with 2003’s Dancehall Queen Diva. She was named Best Emerging Artist and Best Hip-Hop Artist in 2011’s “Best of the Beat Awards” and was nominated for a GLAAD media award the same year.
