Longtime American alt-rockers the Breeders will be going on the road this fall and using the opportunity to showcase new music, which they’ve been working on for their upcoming album. The gang will kick things off on September 2 in St. Louis. From there, it’s on to Kansas City, Denver, Salt Lake City and Garden City, ID. They’ll play the Showbox in Seattle on September 9 and then play down the West Coast, hitting Portland on September 11 and San Jose on September 12, before a jaunt to Phoenix to play the Crescent Ballroom on September 16. The band will finish up at the Hollywood Bowl in LA on September 18.

Formed in 1990 by the Pixies’ Kim Deal and Throwing Muses’ Tanya Donelly, the Breeders gained mainstream success with their 1993 platinum album Last Splash, but became inactive in 1995. They reformed in 2001, though Deal was the only returning original member. Their most recent album, 2008’s Mountain Blues, charted in the top 100 in both the US and the UK.
