Singer-songwriter Cass McCombs released Big Wheel and Others, his latest LP, last year, but he’s still heading out on the road to support it with an extensive tour. He’ll start off in Pomona, CA at The Glass House on October 1, continuing to Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; St. Louis, MO; Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; Pittsburgh, PA; Philadelphia, PA; Pawtucket, RI; Cambridge, MA; Brooklyn, NY (at Rough Trade for two nights); Washington, DC; Atlanta, GA; San Diego, CA; and San Francisco, CA, among others. The tour will wrap up in Portland, OR at Doug Fir Lounge on December 6. Joining McCombs on tour will be Philadelphia-based The War on Drugs and rockers Meat Puppets. Born in Concord, CA, McCombs started out his songwriting career in New York City, until the events of 9/11 sent him to San Francisco. He recorded his debut, Not the Way EP, releasing it via Monitor Records in 2002. McCombs has released seven full-length albums, including 2005’s PREfection, 2009’s Catacombs, and 2011’s Humor Risk. McCombs has toured with acts like Band of Horses, Andrew Bird, Blonde Redhead, Arcade Fire, The Shins, Iron and Wine, and more.
