Donny and Marie Osmond currently carry the flag for one of the most recognizable family acts of the 20th century. The Osmonds have entertained America in various forms for over 50 years, and these two siblings currently maintain the family tradition with their stage shows in Las Vegas. The variety show that put the two of them on the map in the late 1970s is a bit of nostalgia that many in this country will never forget, making Donny and Marie tour dates especially hot tickets when the duo takes their show on the road outside of Sin City.

Donny and Marie Christmas in Detroit

This year, the family decided to leave The Strip in Las Vegas and the numerous theaters they’ve occupied there to bring a Christmas show to the Midwest. Scheduled in Detroit and Chicago, the first six days of this holiday extravaganza showed how an established show biz family can still draw crowds five decades after they established themselves. This show marked the first time a Donny and Marie tour of any sort hit the Fox Theatre in Detroit, and maybe it’ll be a sign of a new holiday tradition for fans who can’t make it to a show in Las Vegas. You can see Donny and Marie ticket prices hit their highest point on the weekend.

Donny and Marie Show Dates

Following the holidays, Donny and Marie will return to their current theater at The Flamingo in Las Vegas. After establishing themselves in that particular town with a limited-run show at the MGM Grand, the potential for an on-going run in one of the most popular show towns in the world was too hard to pass up. The first Donny and Marie Las Vegas show was made possible by Marie’s appearance on Dancing with the Stars and the fresh shot of time in the public eye. As nostalgia grew about their always-friendly sibling rivalries, Donny made his own Dancing with the Stars appearance in 2009 and won. As these two have shown since the 1970s, there’s nothing in musical theater they cannot do, and his dancing certainly shined.

Donny and Marie Live

While the Donny and Marie Las Vegas show maintains the pair’s status as destination entertainment, limited-run engagements such as this holiday show will only serve to build their status as a must-see on the rare occasions they hit the Midwest and east coast for full shows.
