Fruition String Band Announces Summer Tour and New Album
Chances are that while you’re reading this, you’re holed up indoors, hovering over your computer and itching for warmer weather and a chance to get outside. As we anxiously await tan-worthy sunshine and drinking summer beers (sure they make Corona year round, but drinking it in November is about as fun as having your mom chaperone your middle school dance), around this time of year I start to dust off the summer playlists and let the sweet, sweet sounds of dudes like Jack Johnson, G. Love, Bob Marley, and Jimmy Buffet fill my brain with thoughts of getting away. You know–driving with your windows down, digging your feet in the sand, and uploading one too many pictures using that hazy orange filter on Instagram. Summer is almost here.
This year, try adding a little Fruition to your outdoor fun. They’re a band from Portland that’s been rocking a total west coast vibe of folk strings and sunshine soul since 2008. After successfully funding their Kickstarter campaign to record a new album in late 2012, Fruition is set to make a big splash–pun intended–this summer with the release of a new LP and nationwide tour. From outdoor festivals to music halls in major cities, Fruition has dates planned with ALO, Greensky Bluegrass, and The Werks. Check out the listings below for a show near you, then go fix those flip flops with the broken thong.
