Furthur guitarist John Kadlecik has his own band (the John K Band, natch) now, and they’re about to set off on the road for a short docket of tour dates. These dates will take place after Kadlecik’s run with Phil Lesh & Friends. The mini-tour starts on June 12 in Roanoka, Va at Martin’s Downtown, and then moves through Chattanooga, TN at the Riverbend Music Festival on June 13 before finishing up on June 14 at the Asheville Music Hall in Asheville, NC. John K Band plans to debut new music for their new album during this small tour, so fans of any of his bands should come on down and enjoy. Ticketing information is available via Kadlecik’s website.

A founding member of the Grateful Dead tribute band Dark Star Orchestra, John Kadlecik currently performs not only his own band, but also with original Grateful Dead members Bob Weird and Phil Lesh as a member of Furthur. He co-founded Dark Star Orchestra as a side project in 1997, but when it was realized that he could nearly perfectly emulate Jerry Garcia’s playing and singing abilities, he made it a full-time gig.
