R&B songstress Macy Gray has revealed that she’ll be releasing a new album, titled The Way, on October 7, and will be touring to help promote it. Gray will kick things off at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, CA, on September 17, and then will head north to play throughout NorCal– performing in Napa, Oakland and San Francisco. She’ll move through the Midwest before hitting up our northern neighbors with a show at the Bear’s Den at Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls. After that it’s off to the East Coast and Southeast, before wrapping things up on October 26 at the Osage Million Dollar Elm Casino in Tulsa, OK.
Born Natalie Renée McIntyre, Gray originally studied screenwriting at University of Southern California, but got into writing lyrics and eventually singing. Her unique and raspy voice propelled her through the LA music scene and was a key to the success of her 1999 debut album, On How Life Is, which was certified multi-platinum and won her a Grammy. She’s since released nine albums and acted in a variety of TV shows and movies.
