Man Man Tour

No, you’re not seeing double; Man Man, the experimental music band from Philadelphia, has announced a tour that will span the late summer and into fall across the US and Canada. The band band (couldn’t resist) is touring in support of their newest album On Oni Pond, which is scheduled to be released in mid-September. The group, comprised of five members including lead singer and piano player Honus Honus (Ryan Kattner), has released four studio albums since their original debut in 2004. The motley ensemble of instruments played and used by the band ranges from the expected (saxophone, trumpet, guitar) to quirky (horns, cutlery and kitchenware, fireworks).

The guys will kick off their tour on July 27 in Chicago at the Wicker Park Summer Fest. Possibly in an attempt to escape this summer’s fiery wrath, the group is heading north to Regina, Saskatchewan to play at the Regina Folk Festival. Mid-September will begin the band’s shows in the South with stops in Charlotte at Chop Shop, Atlanta at The Masquerade, a few gigs across Texas in Houston, Dallas, Austin and El Paso. In October, the band is scheduled to cover the rest of the country with almost daily shows. West Coast fans can catch the group in San Francisco (twice!) at Great America Music Hall, Portland and Seattle. They will hit up the Midwest with shows in Milwaukee, Chicago and Columbus, OH, before a stop in Buffalo, NY at the Tralf Music Hall. After a quick return to Canada, the group will trickle down the East Coast with shows in Brooklyn, New York City, Washington, DC and finally their hometown of Brotherly Love at Union Transfer. With so many tour stops, fans are guaranteed to catch Man Man in a nearby city, man.
