O.A.R. Is Going On T.O.U.R.
One part rock band, one part jam band, Rockville, Maryland natives O.A.R. are known for their extensive summer touring, and 2013 will be no different than the others. Just announced is “The Sounds of Summer Tour 2013″, making stops at festivals and favorite outdoor venues all over the United States this sunny season. The tour kicks off with a show at Harborfest in Norfolk, Virginia; and then continues on to Kansas City; Chicago; Columbus; Pittsburgh; Atlanta; Colorado’s famed Red Rocks Ampitheatre (the site of O.A.R.’s last concert release); Boston’s Bank of America Pavilion; Citi Field (otherwise home to the New York Mets) in Flushing, New York; and finishes up in Holmdel, New Jersey at the PNC Bank Arts Center. Now that’s a way to spend a summer.
O.A.R. began playing their brand of American rock and roll in 1996, but didn’t really hit giant commercial success until the releases of Stories Of A Stranger in 2005 and All Sides in 2008, when smash hits like “Shattered” dominated the charts. Since then, the band has sold over 1.2 million albums and sold out Madison Square Garden. Not bad for a bunch of hometown pals.
Tickets for most tour dates go on sale Friday, March 15. Want tickets to your other favorite shows? Stay on SeatGeek for the latest.
