OK Go Announces Summer Tour Dates
Ah, here it goes again—indie group OK Go have just announced plans for their first EP in four years. Dubbed Upside Out and out June 17, the EP will feature four tracks from their upcoming studio album, Hungry Ghosts, one of which, “The Writing’s On the Wall,” was featured on the soundtrack for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. To promote all of this new music activity, OK Go is setting out on a short summer tour around North America. The first stop is the Assembly Music Hall in Sacramento, CA on July 15, followed by shows in San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; Vancouver, BC; Portland, OR; West Hollywood, CA; Englewood, CO; St. Louis, MO; Chicago, IL; and more. The last stop comes on August 16 at the Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis, MN. Tickets for the tour are on sale now.
Formed in Chicago, IL in 1998, OK Go is currently composed of lead singer Damian Kulash, bass guitarist Tim Nordwind, drummer Dan Konopka, and guitarist and keyboardist Andy Ross, who replaced Andy Duncan in 2005. OK Go has released three studio albums since their inception, and they’re known for their off-beat, quirky music videos. In fact, the band’s video for “Here It Goes Again” (see it below) won a Grammy Award for Best Music Video in 2007.
