Electro-psychedelic maestro and founding member of Animal Collective, Panda Bear, has just announced he’ll be hitting the road this fall in support of his new album, Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper. He’ll start the tour off at the Gorilla vs. Bear Fest at the Granada Theater in Dallas on September 12. He’ll then move on to shows in Houston and Austin, before flying out to play the Jefferson in Charlottesville, VA, on September 16. From there it’s on to Pittsburgh, Boston, Montreal, Brooklyn and then New York’s Irving Plaza on September 23. After a couple days off, he’ll play Cincinnati’s MidPoint Festival on September 25, followed by the Pygmalion Festival in Urbana, IL on September 26, and a show in Madison, WI, on September 27. The last show on the tour will be in Minneapolis on September 28.

Born Noah Lennox, Panda Bear began releasing music in the late 90s and formed the collaborative experimental musical group Animal Collective in 2000. He’s one of only two members that have provided music for all of the band’s releases, which total nine albums. Panda Bear’s solo work features five albums, including the upcoming Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper and 2007’s Person Pitch made a variety of year’s best lists.
