Phutureprimitive Releases New Album and Begins National Tour
Phutureprimitive Album Release and Tour
Glitch-hop, breaks, dubstep, tip-hop, downtempo, bass music… no I’m not just making noises, those are the “sub-genres” that producer/songwriter/DJ Phutureprimitive considers influences for his own brand of emotional, electronic dance music. It makes sense when you consider his love of all music as a kid, which is around the same time he first started playing piano. Today, he has set himself up to transcend the “short shelf life” of electronic music by appealing to a more kinetic listening experience: with heavy, warm bass and hypnotic musicality, his gut vibrating tunes are trying to speak to both the body and the mind.
Following the creation of his own record label, Native Harmonix, Phutureprimitive released Kinetik in 2011. With a growing fan base and time spent honing his craft even more, he has released the first half of his anticipated two part album Searching For Beauty in The Darkest Places on April 9. In support of the new release, Phutureprimitive kicked off his National Tour this week at the Spaceland Ballroom in Hamden, CT. With a show in the city that never sleeps that took place last evening, and stops planned across the U.S., now wouldn’t be a bad time to stock up on glow sticks and find a show nearest you.
