Alternative metal gods Primus have just released plans to extend their summer tour into September. They’ve already announced plans to play on June 21 at the Amnesia Rockfest; June 22 in North Tonawanda, NY; June 24 in Port Chester, NY; June 25 in Portland, ME; and more. Primus is also set to play a pair of shows with The Dean Ween Group in Asbury Park, NJ, and Big Flats, NY. To this schedule they’ve added a show on September 12 at Myth in Maplewood, MN; a show at The Venue in Fargo, ND on September 16; one at 7 Flags Event Center in Clive, IA; and a set at Riot Fest in Denver, CO from September 19 to 21. Tickets are all available now, and ticketing information is available through the band’s website.

Based in San Francisco and formed in 1984, Primus is currently comprised of Les Claypool, Larry LaLonde, and Tim Alexander. They recorded six studio albums before going on hiatus in 2000. They came back, though—their most recent album, Green Naugahyde, was released in 2011. Primus is also responsible for something much more important—they recorded the original theme song to South Park.
