QOTSA to Finish World Tour with Halloween Festival
Alt rockers Queens of the Stone Age have just announced that they’ll be closing out their current world tour with a huge event at the Forum in Los Angeles on October 31 dubbed “The End of the Road.” The Halloween-themed concert will feature performances from The Kills, Nick Oliveri’s Uncontrollable, and of course, QOTSA themselves. Besides music, there will also be a haunted house, costume contest, and appearances by the online alternative pin-up models SuicideGirls.
Formed in the mid-90s, the Queens of the Stone Age found moderate success almost from the beginning — their first two albums both charted in the Billboard top 200 and sold well in the UK and Australia. But it was the 2002 Platinum album Songs for the Deaf that brought them to the attention of mainstream rock fans, where they’ve pretty much stayed every since. Their most recent album, last year’s…Like Clockwork garnered tons of critical praise, premiered at the top of the U.S. charts, and was a gold record in three countries.
