Rocker/bluegrass crooner/producer/Mr. Mandy Moore (seriously, what hasn’t he done) Ryan Adams is finally doing some things for himself. Following the release of his new single, “Gimme Something Good”, Adams has just released his plans for his upcoming 14th studio album. Dubbed Ryan Adams (fitting), the album will be released on September 9 via PaxAm Records (Adams’ own label). To support his new project, Adams has announced a tour. He’ll start off in Burlington, VT on July 23 at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts, and from then he’ll visit Newport, RI (for the Newport Folk Fest); Camden, NJ (for XPoNential Music Festival); Aspen, CO; and Boulder, CO on August 7. After that, Adams will take a break before visiting the nice folks in Santa Barbara, CA at Arlington Theater on October 1. From there, Adams will visit Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Vancouver, BC; Edmonton, AB; Winnipeg, AB; Chicago, IL; Ames, IA; St. Louis, MO; Kansas City, MO; and many more. The presale for these fall dates starts July 24, and the general onsale kicks off on Friday, July 25.

David Ryan Adams is best known for a prolific solo career (his critically acclaimed debut solo album, Gold, was released in 2000), though he’s also a member of alt-country band Whiskeytown and rock band The Cardinals. He’s produced albums for Willie Nelson, Jesse Malin, Fall Out Boy, Weezer, and Norah Jones, not to mention written a book of poems, Infinity Blues, and a collection of short stories, Hello Sunshine.
