UPDATE

Sarah Brightman had some disappointing news for her North American fans today. She announced that her latest album, “Dreamchaser,” which was set to be released in January, will now be released sometime during the month of April.

As a result of this news, she also announced that her tour will be pushed back until a September start. The tour, which was originally scheduled to kick off in January, will now kick off on September 13 in Hamilton, Ontario at Copps Coliseum. Unfortunately for fans in Providence, Upper Darby, Austin, Portland, Sacramento and San Diego, shows were not rescheduled due to a lack of venue availability. Refunds for those shows are available at point of purchase. For the rest of the shows tickets for the original dates will be honored on the new dates.

Brightman isn’t your average singer-songwriter. She is a classically trained soprano, possessing a vocal range of over three octaves. At age 52, she is often credited with bridging the gap between opera and mainstream music, and has sung in over 10 languages. She has received over 180 Gold and Platinum sales and several Grammy Award nominations. Brightman has collaborated with the likes of Placido Domingo, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Andrea Bocelli on the song “Time to Say Goodbye.” As if all that wasn’t enough, Brightman is also a very active philanthropist, and was awarded the UNESCO nomination to be an “Artist for Peace” ambassador earlier this year.
