Long Island-based emo/punk/rock pioneers Taking Back Sunday have just announced plans for a North American headlining tour to take place this fall. The band (now back with their original Tell All Your Friends lineup) will launch their gigs October 11 in Clifton Park, NY, with stops in Pittsburgh, PA; Madison, WI; Tulsa, OK; San Antonio, TX; and Charlotte, NC (home to band members John Nolan and Adam Lazzara). The final date of the tour brings the boys home to Long Island for a gig at The Emporium. Support for the tour (minus a show here or there – check your local date for information) takes the form of Polar Bear Club and Transit. Taking Back Sunday will be broadcasting live from Starland Ballroom on AXS on September 12 at 11:00pm, so if you can’t get tickets (which, you’re on SeatGeek, so you totally can), check out your local cable provider to rock at home.
Formed in 1999 in Amityville, NY, Taking Back Sunday underwent a series of lineup changes before returning to the roots of their current band. They toured last fall to commemorate the tenth anniversary of their debut album, Tell All Your Friends, and have recently confirmed that work on a sixth studio album has started.
