Indie Brit rockers The Horrors have just announced that they’ll be hitting North America this year in support of their just released album Luminous. The band will be playing the European festival circuit throughout the Summer; highlights include the Field Day Festival in London on June 8, Unaltrofestival in Milan on July 15 and the Reading Festival in Reading, UK, on August 24. The guys will land on this side of the pond in San Diego on October 13 and make their way up the West Coast to play the Hawthorne Theatre in Portland, OR, on October 20. After that, it’s on to a show in Salt Lake City on October 22 and then a run through the Midwest with shows in Minneapolis, Chicago and Detroit, as well as a couple stops in Canada. After playing in Boston on November 1, the group will head south, hitting New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. and then move on to shows in North Carolina, Georgia and Texas. They’ll close out the tour at The Parish in Austin, TX, on November 12.
Although, all their albums of have charted in the top 50 in their native UK, The Horrors have never really found similar mainstream success in the US (despite appreciation by American critics and audiophiles). Their evolving sound infuses elements from post-punk, new wave, gothic/horror rock, and psychedelic revival.
