The Kills (aka Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince) played a brief tour this past June, and they’ve just announced plans to come back to the United States for some more dates later this fall. The six dates start off in New York City at Terminal 5 on October 21, and then continue through Vancouver, BC (at the Commodore Ballroom); Seattle, WA (at Neptune Theatre); Portland, OR (at Wonder Ballroom); San Francisco, CA (at The Fillmore); and Los Angeles, CA (at the Forum, also with Queens of the Stone Age). Will The Kills have new tunes to share by late fall? It’s possible—a recent interview with singer Alison Mosshart said that their new record will be “completely different”, noting that guitarist Jamie Hince has developed a new interest in reggae. We’ll see! For ticketing information, visit the band’s website.

The Kills got together when both members were in other bands—they soon figured out that they made sweet, sweet music together. They’ve released four studio albums—2003’s Keep on Your Mean Side; 2005’s No Wow; 2008’s Midnight Boom, and 2011’s Blood Pressures. Though they’re always compared by the press to The White Stripes, the band cites their influences as PJ Harvey, LCD Soundsystem, Patti Smith, and The Velvet Underground.
