Voodoo Music Fest Casting Spells on Nola for its 14th Year
Voodoo Music Experience
The Voodoo Music Experience, otherwise known as Voodoo Fest, will make its triumphant return to New Orleans this year. The three-day affair will take place over November 1-3, and while no headliners have been announced yet, in the past artists like Neil Young, Jack White, Skrillex and Gary Clark Jr. have performed. The festy – which falls either the weekend before or after Halloween – began back in 1999, and was the first major event held in Nola post-Katrina. It features music ranging from alternative rock to hip-hop to ska to gospel. A true melting pot of music, much like the city which houses it.
While folks eagerly await to hear the 2013 Voodoo Experience lineup, tickets are currently on sale. General admission tickets are available at $150, but if you’d like to camp out then tack on another $65. For VIP camping, you’ll have to pony up $400, but will get to revel in reserved parking, daily drink specials, exclusive food, massages and upgraded restrooms. Upgraded restrooms at a festival? Can’t beat that! For those traveling from out of town, festival-organizers have blocked off rooms at the Hyatt Regency at a discounted rated.
