PREVIOUS NEWS

The Wakarusa Camping and Music Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2013. The four-day Midwest fest, known for its varied musical selections and hippy extracurricalrs like yoga and disc golf, touches down late in May, beginning on a Thursday and running till Sunday June 2nd. Where exactly it will take place however is the subject of speculation: For the past three years Wakarusa has happened in Ozark, AK, though rumors have begun to circulate that a homecoming (to Lawrence, KS) may be in order for the momentous 10th-year celebration.

No official lineup has been announced, but judging from recent years you can hang your hat on reliable road warriors from jam circles, like Umphrey’s Mcgee and The New Deal, or blastacular horn ensembles like the Budos Band, Trombone Shorty or Galactic. Other than that, Wakarusa has maintained an eclectic profile highlighted by artists with new albums in the past few years — the Avett Brothers, Skrillex, Flaming Lips, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, and Primus.
