Fresh off watching Friday the 13th Parts III – IX I am primed and ready for a frighteningly fun Halloween weekend. Accordingly, I wanted to take a closer look at some the top sports and music events for 10/30 and 10/31 in both New Orleans and New York for those that are resisting the urge to dress up as someone from the Jersey Shore, The Town, anything “risqué” or some other highly expected costume. Why those two cities? Well the Saints are hosting the Sunday Night Football game this week (on Halloween) and I live and work in NYC and felt like scoping things out for my personal interest. Oh and we already covered the Phish concert in AC, which might be the hottest event this Halloween (Phish Phans Paying Top Dollar To See Band’s “Halloween Costume”)

After pulling the data I was happy to find that Drew Brees (aka Jason VoorBrees) and the New Orleans Saints are owning Halloween weekend when it comes to secondary market ticket sales. Not only is this ticket commanding the highest ticket price among all the NYC and New Orleans events for Halloween, it is also the second most expensive game thus far this season behind the very first game between the Vikings and Saints on September 9th. Check out all the New Orleans events below along with their average ticket prices.

Halloween in New Orleans

Halloween events in New OrleansAs you can see, the Steelers vs Saints Sunday Night game is in high demand, with average prices at $311.95 on the secondary ticket market which makes sense with the Steelers sitting at 5-1 and the home team Saints at 4-3 (not to mention that they are the reigning Super Bowl Champs). In addition, it is rumored that if this game doesn’t sell out, Jason VoorBrees is going to find the nearest lake and slash a bevy of young co-eds with a machete, so you better buy some Saints tickets or developed the unmatched martial-arts and survival skills of Tommy Jarvis…

Now lets step back down to reality and take a look at Halloween events in NYC.

* Avg. listing price

  • It is notable that comedian Daniel Tosh has 2 of the 5 highest priced events during Halloween
  • The Packers vs Jets are the second most demand event this weekend in NYC with average prices of $200 even
  • The aptly named “Black Crowes” will also be performing in NYC at Nokia Times Square

No matter where you are this Halloween, enjoy the costumes, candy and events that make this day one-of-a-kind. Just remember, even if you live in NYC you can’t feel too safe because Jason has been known to take Manhattan.
