The US Men’s National Soccer Team will continue their quest to qualify for the 2014 World Cup with 4 more qualifying matches in September and October of this year. The Americans are currently tied with Jamaica atop Group A in the CONCACAF World Cup Qualification 3rd Round.

CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying- Group A Current Standings

# Team GP W T L GF GA DIFF PTS Last 5 matches
1 United States 2 1 1 0 4 2 2 4 TW
2 Jamaica 2 1 1 0 2 1 1 4 TW
3 Guatemala 2 0 1 1 2 3 -1 1 TL
4 Antigua and Barbuda 2 0 1 1 1 3 -2 1 TL

The National Team is coming off of a 1-1 tie at Guatemala on June 12, which many consider to be a huge disappointment. The men won their first qualifying match 3-1 at home against Antigua and Barbuda.

Next up will be two tough matches against fellow group leader Jamaica. The first will take place on September 7 in Kingston and the second on September 11 at home in Columbus, OH. Ticket information has not been released yet for this match, but check back here for updates and tickets the second they are available.

Following the Jamaica matches, the US men will travel to Antigua and Barbuda on October 12 and conclude Group A qualifying on October 16 against Guatemala in Kansas City. Ticket information for this game will again be available at a later date.

Once the United States (hopefully) moves on to the 4th Round of qualifying (by finishing in the top half of their group), they will be placed in one “supergroup”, along with the top finishers from Group B and C. The top three of this six-team group will qualify for the World Cup, while the fourth place finisher will be placed in an intercontinental playoff to possibly qualify as well.
